Frank Cao, Founder & Managing Partner

Frank Cao founded and oversees all aspects of Gridline Capital. Previous to forming Gridline, Frank compiled over a decade’s worth of construction and real estate investments. He is a founder of E2 Remodel, Inc. and ARG Builders, Inc. in Los Angeles. These companies have built over a dozen of custom homes and over a thousand of remodeling projects. Frank has managed two development projects in small lot sub-division in West Los Angeles & The Art District of Culver City. Frank and his wife (Connie) started investing in  real estate with their own money successfully since 2009 and have scaled up to invest with friends and partners. During Frank’s career, he has overseen the acquisition and development of over $30,000,000 of private investments in single family homes, multifamily and is highly familiar with the local economic market of Los Angeles. Frank has invested, managed the underwriting, due diligence and contract negotiation of over 9 properties comprising over $30,000,000.

Frank has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Economics from University of Toronto and a Master Degree in Economics from Princeton University.

Born in Vietnam, Frank went to Toronto, Canada when he was 19. Without any financial support, Frank worked various jobs in construction to put himself through college. Armed with solid work ethic, in four years, he earned enough experience in construction to qualify for a building contractor license at the same time earning a full Fellowship to Princeton University’s Ph.D. Program in Economics. His love for design and building brought him back in construction and real estate industry. Frank plays various sports including soccer and coaches soccer to kids. He loves traveling with his wife and two children. He is an avid reader and considers himself a lifetime learner.
